It was a two-seat, all-metal monoplane powered by a Motorlet M-701 turbojet engine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">More than 3,600 Delfin trainers had been built by 1974, testifying to the type\u2019s timeless design. A small batch of a dedicated reconnaissance version, the L-29R (cover named the Eye), was built in the late 1960s, fitted with a camera container under the front fuselage and two wingtip-mounted fuel tanks, while the \u2018RS\u2019 variant was a single-seater, used for advanced flying training.
